Mile 36 Lodge is sited in an attractive location, steps away from the border to the Mount Kinabalu National Park. Stayers enjoy spectacular views of Mount Kinabalu in the front lawn of the Lodge.  The grounds of the Lodge are larger than most lodges and it is a peaceful nature retreat. Within the compound, one can stroll amidst many flowering scrubs and hear the melodious strains of the birds. Sited at an altitude of 1,500m, the air is cool, between 18°C to 25°C. Mile 36 Lodge is a great place for leisure, gatherings, rest point as you do bird and flower watching activities.

ü Very close to Kinabalu Park and easily accessible. You can travel to the Mile 36 Lodge by traveling along the main road from Kota Kinabalu to Ranau. It is a mere 1.5km after the Kinabalu Park Headquarters. Enter from the left side of the main road. The Lodge is just 2 hours drive from the Kota Kinabalu Town Center.

ü Has well-maintained ground with good amenities. The Lodge has a restaurant, and cooking and BBQ facilities too for Bungalow and Chalet.  This will make your stay so much more easy and enjoyable.

ü Managed by a bunch of friendly staff. Mainly from villages around the lodge.  They will look into all your needs and offer you local information about the attractions, hikes you can take, food options.

Lastly, it offers great value for money!  from RM130 for Twin and Double bed room and from RM200 to RM290 for Family rooms, these rooms come with breakfast.  Bungalow and Chalet is selling without breakfast from RM380 onward with cooking and BBQ facilities.  Extra bed and Extra Mattress for additional person is available at very low cost!

How Mile 36 Lodge Looks Like

The Lodge comprises 7 buildings and 1 reception hut of various designs.

Reception hut. This is the where guests check in and check out, borrow books and games, hang around using wifi internet access, purchase some food items such as snacks, cup noodles, biscuits, drinks and essential items such as tooth brush and tooth paste.

Fado. This is a 2 storey building designed in local style, with mainly wooden and concrete structures. The upper level is the Chalet with 1 Living room and 3 bed rooms. The lower level is a backyard room with kitchen and 1 Quad room.  At the basement level there is 1 single room.

Easy Valley.  This 2 storey building is designed in a typical English Cottage style. It has a Family guest room which has 1 queen size bed and a 2 single bed for a total of 4 persons.  There is another Twin bed room for 2 guests.

Chin’s Bungalow. This is a “kampong style” bungalow with a very large sheltered space at the side of the building for BBQ, games, activities, etc.   This is suitable for a group of family and friends.

Begonia. This 2 storey building is contemporary style. It is constructed using hardwood on the upper level and concrete on the lower level. It has 8 rooms in total. There are 4 rooms in each level. Each room has 2 single beds or 1 queen size bed.

Old Long House. This 2 storey building is local style. It is constructed using hardwood on the upper level and concrete and wood on the lower level. It has 4 units for rent including upper level - Studio room, Triple room, Family room large, lower level - Union room.  Lower level is also the restaurant, the Mile 36 Café.

Willie’s Cottage. This 2 storey building is local style. It is constructed using hardwood on the upper level and concrete on the lower level.  Currently only upper level is used as guest room.

Willie’s Guest House. This single storey building is contemporary style. It is constructed with mostly concrete and partly wood.
